New Guy

Hello, I am new to the forum. I am buying a 95 F350 4x4 full 4 door with a 7.3 and I have been doing lots of research online about what I can do to the truck and came across this place. any help would be greatly appreciated. the truck has 285000 miles and a fresh built tranny. my intent is to rebuilt the engine and do what i can to the truck to bring some life back into it. I do a lot of traveling so my main goal is fuel economy. I'm not concerned with my 1/4 mile time or 0-60 time. I know whatever I do to the truck it will still be able to preform the work I need it to. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm thinking cold air intake, 4" turbo back exhaust, tunner, hopefully within the next year I can rebuild the engine and port and polish the heads, I heard of a thing called bigg boost that will work with the factory turbo and waste gate to help me get a little more boost out of them. and I was thinking maybe run ether a water methanol injection or a propane injection. Any thoughts on how this build would go and any advice? Thank you.

Welcome to the Org..

skip the water meth and propane..

intake, exhaust, gauges and a custom tuned chip to start you off... after that you can go with different injectors, turbo, IC system ect ect...

Can you get custom tuned chips with multiple tunes that you can choose between or are you limited to one? Also will they take into account high elevation? most of my driving is in the mountains up to about 10000 feet, I live at 6000 feet.

Any one with thoughts on inter coolers and piping. also sounds like a dumb question but where should i go about getting a EGT gauge and sensor, and turbo boost gauge and set up. Any particular brands to look for? thank you.

I am looking at doing the DIY 6637 filter and wondering what do i do with the sensors? Also the truck came with a Rednecked DIY straight pipe exhaust. Would it be of much benefit to buy a nice 4 inch turbo back exhaust. I dont want to spend that extra money if its not necessary. I'm thinking of doing the tony wildman tunner and saw online the installation wasn't what I was expecting, is it very difficult. I'm wondering how much would ether injectors or an Intercooler help out my economy. Are there any other recommended fuel system upgrades that would help out my economy. I will have pictures to come soon.
