hey everyone!
im new to diesels, stumbled across the site and liked what i saw! lots of helpful /interesting posts. one of my main concerns with my diesel is how to boost mileage. i did my first mod to the truck last weekend which was a straight pipe, not sure if it helps mileage, but i got the sound i wanted for cheap. another question i have is how long will my engine last before needing a rebuild? my dad racked up 350,000 miles on the truck before i bought it from him, and he drove it very conservatively...unlike me! i have already had to replace the solenoid in the tranny, but besides that, the only other problem i can remember was replacing the water pump a couple years ago.
any input would be great...sorry for the novel.

Welcome to the site! Glad youre here. You will find the most helpful , knowledgable people here who are always willing to lend a helping hand. As far as your rebuild goes, Ill let one of the pros answer that one. They will steer you in the right direction. Have fun and congrats on your new ride!
