Yeah, any vehicle I get that is strictly for the business will be a tax write off!

Technically there was no 98. They jumped to 99 and ended the 7.3 in 03. I would definitely get an 99 up, it has more capability.

from a business standpoint, getting a new one may make the most cents.

Do you say that because it is newer and it will last longer, so I will get more for my money?

Probably meant the newer the better. If you bought an older one depending on the mileage you may run into repairs here and there, and that means downtime depending on the extent of the problem. I doubt you'd have a problem unless you got a really high mileage truck. But with that being said i'd still go for a later year 7.3 like 02-03 or a later year 6.0 like 05+

+ if it is a write off (cost of doing business) you should be able to come out ahead. youll have a vech to drive around for "business purposes".

I own a painting business and for sure I will be writing off this years purchase of my Dodge. That coupled with all of my expenses may make for very little taxable income, at least for this year.
