bittersweet reason for being here

Hello all. The sweet reason for me being here is that it's due to me acquiring a 2001 7.3 F350 ext cab short box. The bitter part is that I came by the truck due to my father (best friend, hero, hunting buddy, you name it) passing away in April

Now onto the truck. As stated above its a 2001 F350. It has 180,000 miles on it. The cool part is that it was bought brand new by my uncle. He had it for a loooooong time and used it as his daily driver and tow vehicle for his 5th wheel once in a great while. Long story short, my uncle got into a relationship with one of them pesky females and they both decided to purchase a bigger ($50K) fifth wheel camp trailer to travel the country in and traded the F350 in on a new 2wd Dodge dually. My dad could not bare to see that F350 go so he took it over from the dealership my uncle traded it to.

My dad owed on it when he passed away but I could not let it get taken back so I payed it off. $4900 for a 2001 F350 7.3 with 180,000 miles....killer deal in my book.

Anyhoo, just wanted to drop in and say hi and Im sure I will be meddling around this place and spending too much money, thanks to you guys, for the foreseeable future.

My other truck is a 2004 F150 FX4, and I also acquired my father's old 77 F150 (I grew up in a 70s model Ford truck) that is near and dear to my heart. I have a good little Ford family going on right now

Glad to have you - to the ORG!!

Congrats on the truck, sorry for how you came by it. Those of us who have lost our dads understand what you're going through.

It looks like you understand this place pretty well. "Im sure I will be meddling around this place and spending too much money, thanks to you guys, for the foreseeable future." - Yep....that happens if you hang around here very long.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I haven't even gotten the title switched over yet and I am already excited to swap the front headlights to the 05+ ones (and possible the grille and bumper also), as well as putting a new body style tailgate on it (it needs one anyway, just has a louvered 5th wheel tailgate right now and I want an actual tailgate on it), and also doing new body style tail lights, front level to get rid of that nasty nose dive the F350 has going on, And then of course a 6 position chip and better exhaust
