noob with a truck

Hi all,

New to trucks, diesel power and trailers! We needed to purchase a truck to haul a fifth wheel trailer for field work this summer. Learning alot, very fast.

2006 F-250 XLT 4x4 crew cab with 127K on it. Looked very clean to me, and ran well when it was cooler. Seemed to take longer to start when the engine was warm ... but what did I know, maybe that's what is supposed to happen with a diesel engine? Just this past weekend had it completely fail to start on me after towing the trailer on the highway for a bit. A bit of online research led me to this forum and threads on leaks in the HPO system. Urgh.

Anyway, thanks to all who posted their tales, and those who posted the diagnoses!

Welcome to the site. This is a common thing it seems on here. Basiclly if Im understanding the issue your taking longer to biuld oil pressure, so the truck takes longer to get the go ahead to start from the computer. I wanna say dummy plugs?? Let me sit back and Im sure Ill be corrected very soon. Welcome!!!
