Allright, found this site and honestly my intent was to lurk in the shadows and just suck up some handy info. Alredy got the AUX4 switch hooked to PTO high idle (thanks guys!
) But I've had a burning question for years: Why is a Powerstroke a "Powerstroke" and NOT a VT365 or VT444E ? what gives? Id love to have a little orange diamond on my door telling evryone whats really under the hood. |

if you have not been done so already. As far as your question, I dont know. But I think POWERSTROKE sounds better

Well there's the marketing it it! But I can understand why you would but a "Duramax" and not an Izuzu, But the International name is legendary. They own the midrange truck industry, and the history spreads three centuries. Ol' Clessie made a big show to get the country interested in oil engines, but that only goes back like 60 years, and his name is on the side of my personal truck.
Of course, my affinty to International goes back to the IH days. I came home from the maternity ward in an IH 200 pickup. I like my ford, but they should give credit where it's due....

I agree with ya. I am sure it is somewhere in a contract so that Ford can play like it is theirs. To people that don't know better. I am sure someone else has a better answer. I am just taking a shot in the dark.

I'm not sure how the name came about. Seems the Dodge is the only one out of the three to not have a special name. Cummins says it all.

Good thing for dodge... otherwise they'd be in trouble!

LOL...... It doesn't need a catchy name to attract buyers....

I might get in trouble for this but whats the saying, if its not a strokin its a cummins.

The duramax guys like to say "to be stroken you have to be cummin, to be cummin you gotta be hard as a rock" like chevy trucks. Always something....
Okay Obert, sorry man. You can have your thread back! |
