Smile Die Hard Gm Went To Ford

Finally made the decision to get a diesel. NO IFS and wanted a true cew cab. Leaves me with FORD. I got a 05 Super Duty crew cab dually 4x4 6.0 PSD. Kinda dissapointed to read all the negative about the 6.0, but it towes awsome. I have a 3500lbs cab-over camper and a flat bed trailer that I put my jeep on. I am in Denver so lets see if a deisel pulls the hills any better. Anyway looking forward to reading all threads. Thanks

Welcome and congrats on the new truck. If you have any questions or problems be sure and let us know. Someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction. I think that got most of the bugs worked out by 2005. But, have fun with it and let us know when you are ready for some power upgrades. They will make it like a new truck for ya all over again. You are gonna love your rig! And.... I think it's been said before, doesn't really matter which brand you buy.... someone, some where is going to have a problem. You don't always hear about those that have had none! Enjoy!

The rest of GM's trucks are wimpy, but the Duramax isn't. Can't run 10's in a wimpy engine!

The Dmax is still a wimp. You won't have a problem pulling the CO hills in a diesel, although with the altitude you may notice a reduction on fuel mileage.

Oh my g......come on now, that's just ridiculous. The Duramax engine has prooved itself very capable so far. They tow very well and have had a lot less warranty issues for a new engine than the 6.0 did. Have you been to a diesel pulling/drag racing competition lately? Aside from Cummins dominating the Modified diesel pulling class, the rest of the classes are made up of mostly Cummins and Duramax powered trucks. Much the same in drag racing, the fastest trucks at the tracks right now are Cummins and Duramax. Still, the fastest powerstroke hasn't run in the 10's yet. Cummins of course was the first, followed this year by Duramaxes. Ford, GM and Dodge all have great diesels out there right now and for anyone to think one is wimpier than the other is stupid. And for the Cummins guys and Duramax guys to call the Powerstroke 7.3 or 6.0 wimpy is ridiculous too. I say the same thing on the other two forums. All three have proven, capable engines on the market right now and for someone to seriously call another one needs to remove their head from down under.
