sorry for the delay...

Hey!!!!

So GREAT to see another female here! And an Oregonian at that!!! So where, are you located exactly? I travel the state quite frequently so maybe we could meet up sometime?!

I have to appologize for not getting on here sooner, but I am having some serious issues with my computer and dont have my internet running. I am having to go to friends' houses to get online. As soon as i am up and running you will notice that I am on here many hours out of the day.

I hope that you find us all helpful here. I have owned my truck for 4 years now and have always been a Ford Deisel fan! Got, questions? I can either answer or point ya in the right direction.

Thanks so much for joining us!

~Turbotime

PS... hope you get your computer fixed soon!

Welcome!

Welcome Banshee, I'm glad to see another lady in the mix of all these fellas!! Well since you've got a 7.3 I'd reccomend a turbo-back Magnaflow Exhaust. You can pick one up for about 430 bucks. Throw a good intake on, like the AFE Gen I or II. You can do a K&N but i'm not too educated on how good they are. As for a chip, the Superchips Tuner is great, but if you want something that's easy to turn up or down look up www.TSperformance.com. They've got a 6 position chip adjustable by a knob, and programmable from 8 options. The banks 6 gun is a also adjustable without having to stop and retune. Definitely do exhaust and intake first, as you're engine will want more air and the increased ability to move it in and out.....otherwise it defeats the purpose of having a chip. Hope this gives you a starting point!!

Thanks 99!! My first move is intake, stage 2 AFE and the exhaust system..... from there I have heard so many varied opinions on chips/tuners, etc...

Any advice on gauges???

One more welcome Bansee! Great to have another lady into PSD's AND 4-wheelers. My wife and daughters love to ride our 4-wheelers - although ours aren't sport quads........I'd probably kill myself on a sport.
Enjoy the site!

Banshee the Superchip is a great chip for the 7.3. I had many people ask me all i'd had done and when I told them just the chip for the most part they looked at me as if I was one of those "hide all my mods" guys! By the way banshee, as I mentioned I no longer use the superchip anymore. I pulled the program when I got my TS chip. It just serves as a code reader for me anymore. If you're interested, i'll sell it to you for $250 and ship it out there to you for free. Let me know i'm tired of it sittin around gettin!

I forgot about gauges too. You can check out spdiesel's site. I think he had some great prices for them and maybe he can give a nice deal being a fellow member?! It's www.speeddiesel.com. They're pretty good to have if you're going to do any kind of towing. Need to moniter those egt's and tranny temp.

Exactly... I had an Edge to use but refuse to until I get gauges and know what temp things are running at etc.... And because I do tow quite a bit, looking for an after market tranny cooler as well.

This is all great info, this is really going to help. I don't want super beefed up truck, but when I haul I want to smoke those little cars going up the passes.

Hello Banshee!

I have an Edge Evolution in my 96 and use it without gauges. I just keep it on the Tow setting. I get a bit better performance and am resonably comfortable that the temps aren't through the roof. The Evolution actually has a streaming function that reads the tranny temp.

I'm working on getting an exhaust upgrade, pyrometer and perhaps a tranny gauge anyways. Once those are in, I'll be checking out the higher Edge settings!
