i was just getting this started i am in the process of getting a new truck i used to work at a ford dealer until 2001. i have always loved the 7.3 powerstroke and then when they switched to 6.0 i dont know anything about these i have heard that the 03 6 liter was not desirable but the truck im looking at is an 04 or should i just stick to pre 03 thanks

An 03 might already have the problems remedied, but honestly it's all personal preference! Get what you like!

Banshee34 is right. Enough time is passed now that many of the issues should have been resolved....but...check them over thoroughly to be sure.

i would just like to thank everyone for there input i prefer the 7.3 but finding one of these in new england not being a rot box is tough i do however need to do a little more homework on the 6.0 thanks again
