I bought a '97 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed all stock besides a 3" straight pipe so now but looking to change that. I figured if i had some questions i could put get some help from here so i join.

Well im hoping to put a 3"-4" lift and a cold air at some time in the near future. Im still in high school some im still in high school and im still learning a lot about all of the automotive systems so nothin overly complicated at the moment. As for money i work part time at minimum wage so i dont have a lot but a got enough in the bank to play with.

Check ur transmission fluid if a auto and flush ur system including the converter there should be a plug on the converter. The E4OD can be a good or bad transmission like everything else u treat it right it will treat u well.

U will wanna get gauges eventually to monitor ur engine and transmission vitals.

Get a 3inch downpipe cause the factory one super restrictive.
get a custom chip. Do NOT Buy a EDGE unless u wanna buy a transmission.

Wanna figure out ur max power do 120x2.3 that's the most fuel ur truck could have if factory injectors.

Also do not go around blowing smoke thinking ur cool or hot stuff cause ur not. It gives us diesel guys bad names. Also ur not gonna win a lot of races or go super fast as ur truck a big heavy brick .



Just giving the basics and trying to convince him that smoke isn't cool most will agree

I agree on the smoke part, but who says you can't go fast in an old truck? my truck scoots really well for being 17 years old with 230k miles, it runs with most of the new diesels here, and has outran numerous cars. But I also has bigger injectors, HPOP, chip, etc... It just doesn't corner worth a sh*t, but that's a given
