I'm now on the Arizona Powerstroke Group (thanks ZMANN) as well (same username).
Like I posted over there, I'm now in need of changing oil and EGR coolers (my delta is approaching 15*). I was blissfully ignorant until I got on this board and started checking things (that monitoring the PSD thread was really good information). However, I'm left with a dilemma and that is where to get the truck repaired? I have the tools (left over from my motorcycle mechanic and roadracing days and when I graduated UTI), but I'm short things like a means to lift the heads and time; the truck is my DD.
Although I'd really like to stud the engine so I can maximize the usefulness of the time spent to change the EGR and oil coolers, I'm really toying with the idea of just repairing the truck (well, preventive repair because I haven't seen any signs of the "bad things that can happen" when this condition isn't repaired). I have some 5-gallon buckets with lids, but does Autozone / Checker / O'Reilly / NAPA accept 7 gallons of coolant and 7 gallons of VC-9 contaminated distilled water?
