Howdy

Just saying hi...

I'm a mom with two kids, 250 lbs. of Plott hounds, and a penchant for wildlife management areas. At present, I drive an AWD V8 Volvo XC90, which will go just about anywhere (my mechanic hates me) in any weather but is otherwise a total, flaming POS. Additionally, I don't have room in the cargo area for topsoil, motorcycles, hound dogs, filthy children, or legitimate tailgate picnics.

I would like to accomplish at least two of these things at the same time (or at all!) and also tow in the future. Next to my children's laughter, a Powerstroke diesel is the most beautiful sound on Earth, so I'm looking around for an F250 and will be rooting through this forum to learn what I can and try to un-scare myself from the 6.0Ls.

7.3's are good too! Ok, I might be partial.

My husband has an Excursion with the 6.0 and has not had too many problems, and I try not to get mired down in the horror stories, but...

I would be thrilled to actually find a solid 7.3!

I would look at the 1999 to early 2000 7.3's, less issues than the 6point0 and will run alot longer. Just my .02cents. Regardless, you will find a wealth of knowledge here and even some good people.

Thanks, y'all. 7.3 is my aim, if I can find the right one. I did hear a rumor that they can develop transmission issues if the driver has a heavy foot...and, I do. Any ideas on that?
