Hello World
New to forum, from Mobile, Alabama. Bought my first Diesel about 3 months ago. Went all out with an 2008 F250 Lariat 6.4L. I have about 3000 miles on it so far and love the truck. I was GM all the way until this vehicle. Had settled on an 08 2500 but figured I had beter at least drive the Ford, and after driving it I took it home.
I am ready to start tinkering with it a bit and have the usual plans for a small lift, intake, exhaust and Edge programmer. I started last night with the first mod of the Air Raid 400-214 Intake kit. I have posted in the 6.4 problems forum because after the install (which was a snap) I do NOT like the sounds coming from the area of the airbox now. After getting into the pedal and getting the turbo spun up, if I get out of the pedal there is a loud ksshhhh. Sucking sound for a second coming from under the passenger dash where the airbox is. I am told this is normal and the factory box just did a better job muffling such sounds. Heck if that is the case the extra 9 HP might not be worth the extra high pitched whine (not the usual turbo whine) and this other sound coming from under the dash. Anyway, I am going to poke around a little more and see what I can find. Here is the rig:

Nice ride
 With twin turbos I would imagine it would make a different noise.

thats a great looking truck.... thought about smoking out the lenses with the Recon stuff? also an exhaust will only be for looks right now since the aftermarket world has yet to make a drop in exhaust that will eliminate the DPF and cat... so really no performance gains at all with it.... as for a programmer think the Superchips one is the safest out their right now...

Oh and one more thing....I love the truck, but Turbolag SUCKS. As I mentioned this is my first diesel and my first turbo vehicle. I have always had big engine cars, from a fiesty V6 Grand Am GT to a 5.9 Liter Durango, and also have a 68 Camaro and a 69 camaro with a 502 BB. Needless to say I am used to pushing down with my right foot, and immediately going somewhere.
I cannot get used to the lag on this truck. It has power like crazy. I cnm pull my Camaro on the trailer to the track without even knowing it is back there...but for everyday driving, I cannot get used to the lag. It seems gutless at low end. I thought the second turbo was going to fix that, guess not. I need a programmer.
