BUY IT?

Hello,

I checked out a 2006 f250 power stroke, with 154,000 Its listed for $13900 in "as is" condition. The body is in fantastic condition along with the interior. I only lot drove the truck and it seemed under powered? almost like it was not generating boost? no check engine light but the fuel level was super low. Anyways I use to own a Duramax (lb7) I had no issues just not my style, I also owned a 2002 7.3 which I loved to death, but it was a total loss after I was rear
ended. I want to know what im going to have to do to this truck, it seems nice only thing I noted was a hissing type noise from underneath during glow plug warming cycle (before starting it) The lack of power is tough, it was cold and
again almost empty. Any help would be huge.

Regards,
Ian.

Well If I was you I would tell them to put at least a half tank and let you drive it to town for lunch at least. Better yet get it warm and out on the highway. If they can't do that I would walk away. They don't need to sell it bad enough. The hiss could be as simple as the turbo.Normal to most that are used to 6.0 and different when ppl come from 7.3's or others. Or it could be a y pipe leak or exhaust manifold/ down pipe leak. Or a few other things. I would get the vin and run it though a local dealer. Forgot to ask what kind of package are you getting for that money? Crew cab, fx4, lariat ?
