Intro

Been lurking for a while and it's time for a into.

Just moved here to upstate New York from Alaska. I have a 04 f250. I bought this ford (my first) to do work. I tow, plow snow, work, and play. I got this truck cheap because the po hated the 6.0. It reached a 100k and he just unloaded it. I did some research before I bought and figured out there are a of of whiners giving the 6.0 a bad name. When I worked for the man I was a gm mechanic and remember hating the duramax when it came out. I think I got a good deal even though I know I am going to have to get my checkbook out and my hands dirty.
So far I have changed the oil and fuel filters. I am going on the recommendations from this site a buy a monitoring system. An exhaust will also be coming shortly. Mechanically the truck is in good shape, minus a vacuum pump for the hvac/4wd. There is some oil in the coolant reservoir but I am hoping that was left over from previous repairs.
The truck tows great and is meant to have a load, empty it drives like a tank and does not have the power I thought it would have, but the truck is also pushing 35s with 3.73.
