Hi From Longtime Diesel Fan, but New to Trucks

Hi All,

Just wanted to say hello and make an introduction.

I'm a longtime diesel fan, having owned Mercedes and VW autos. I've been looking for the right Excursion to pull the trigger on, and finally found it.

Was leaning towards a 7.3, but found a very nice 2005 6.0 with all the right fixes and mods: ARP bolts, Bulletproof EGR cooler, new factory oil cooler, Diesel Tech coolant filter, aFe intercooler, aFe airbox, etc.

All the work was done by Diesel Tech in SoCal, which appears to have a very solid reputation among the Powerstroke community.

The truck had a 6 inch Fabtech lift, but wouldn't fit in my garage at that height. So I went back to lower springs and Bilsteins and I'm clearing nicely with about 2 inches to spare (the lift and BFG tires have been sold already). Also had to get slightly smaller Hankook Dynapro ATs, which I am liking so far. Nice ride and very quiet.

The site's a great source of info and I referenced info here many times before my purchase and since, so thanks!

She's just a few inches shorter now, but looking great.
