new 2004 f250 fx4 diesel owner

hey guys im david and i have jus bought my first diesel truck... been a diesel mech on big trucks for years but finally jus broke down and bought my own.. love it jus need some pointers on ironing out a few kinks

well lets start the list shall we lol
1. it idles rough and used to smoke blueish white smoke but has since stopped smoking since i added power service additive to it
2. it has a viper remote starter keyless system that doesnt work
3. front end rattles terribly when you hit bumps
4. front diff lockers are missing completely
5. had a busted passengers mirrior but i replaced that today
6. has no code for the keyless entry on the door
7. tires are craked around the whole sidewall
8. looks like it may have either a valve cover leak or rear main seal leak
9. frame is starting to rust a bit more than i would like to see
10. was missing a rear hub cap but replaced it yesterday

i think thats all i can remember right now but when i think of more i will post it

Hi, welcome to Powerstroke.org The only thing I can help you with is the door code. It's on a label on the computer (ECU) on the firewall under the radio. There is a five digit Factory code on the label, it's not to hard to get at, you'll have to move a bit of white insulation and you'll need a flashlight to be able to see it. Once you get that and use it then you can put in your own code, the Factory code will always work, no matter what the code was change too...

and thanks for the info! i tried to find the code last night and succeeded!!! thanks!! it works great!! but was a bit of a paint to find!!

Good for you, it took me about 30 minutes to get mine (plus a lot of reading to find out the info, lol). Here's your list is getting shorter

yup got my new WARN premium 4x4 hubs installed today and everything seems to be working properly in that department.. going monday morning to get my remote starter reprogrammed hopefully and monday afternoon to have the diagnostics done to tell me which injector is sticking and i should be set i think!!! well on my way to getting her all straight!! im so happy!!
