New 7.3 owner from North Texas

Hi guys and gals new to the 7.3 power stroke but not Fords. Wouldn't own anything else. Just picked up this 97 F-350 XLT 2 wheel drive with only 201000 on the odometer. I traded it for a my zx12r. Even through I really liked the bike I had to get a 2nd vehicle do to a growing family so this little truck fits nicely. I hear stories all the time about how poor of fuel economy these trucks got with the 4.10s and 235/85/16 tires but so far I've been impressed. I got her bone stock and she was running around 21.5 on the highway. Since then I've added a Edge Evolution programmer and a after market downpipe (waiting to hook up the exhaust) and is she loud. In tow mode she's running 17 to 18 mpg. But put her up to performance and she's pulling 23 to 25 mpg. Have not actually done a fill up type calculation yet, so I'm going by the mileage coach in the Evolutions hope there's not much difference. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself and say hello, hope ya'll dont mind the pictures..









This is the bike I traded for the truck. Dont let her bass boat paint job fool ya this thing was as fast if not faster than most new bikes thanks to aprox 5k in engine mods alone. But family comes before anything else.

Ya I kind of figured that. I figure I'm around 16 combined and maybe 22 to 23 at the best. I also drive with a very light foot not that it matters. I'll know in a day or so, I ran the rear tank empty and put in just at 5 gallons. I might not get a highway mpg but I will at least get a combined and I'll compair that number with the mileage coach on the programmer to c how far it is. Honestly I'd be happy with around 20
