Hello all! Name is Les and I just bought my first Diesel ever and I hope I did it right. I'm an avid Harley owner with an 03 Anniversary Edition FXDWG and therefore, I bought an 03 Excursion 4x4 7.3L I dont even know if the Excursion comes in 2WD or not. To me all that matters at this point is making sure I did it right by making the purchase with 112,000 on it and where do I go from here for upgrades on motor, trans, and transaxle. Welcome Les!

You couldn't have picked a better first diesel. The 7.3L will treat you well, provide you stay on top of routine maintenance and show it a little TLC from time to time. The Excursions do, in fact, come in 4WD and 2WD versions - but sounds like you got the mac-daddy.

As far as upgrades go, the sky is the limit! (or really, your wallet).... it all depends on what you're looking for. Mileage, performance, longevity, etc - you'll be suprised to know that you can achieve most of these (if not all) with going with aftermarket performance products!

Anywho, I'm wrambling... lots of great info on this site. Whereabouts are you from? We have local chapters throughout the nation. Might be a good idea to get in with some of your local meets (commonly referred to as G2Gs - Get Togethers) and meet some people who can help you out, should you need it!

Thanks I appreciate the advice. Ihave a few things on it that need fixin but its MINOR... overhead console and a pull strap for getting in and out of the back passenger side door. Other than that its a Gem.

Thanks for the reply and info. I'm trying to learn all that I can about this truck and it's set up. I'm not even sure of the type of trans in it or transfer case. All I know is it's 4x4 and loaded. Hahahaha

Hey I'm new to the Amsoil as well as this Diesel stuff. Any help on what to put in this beast is welcomed information. I encourage any and all help I can get on this unit.
