New 04 owner

Hi everyone,

I just picked up my new (to me) truck today from the dealership. Traded in a 2006 f150 black supercab FX4 for the new truck. It's a 2004 white f250 XLT CCSB 4x4 6.0 diesel. So far I am loving the power and space compared to my old truck. Found this one with 69k miles and was sold after seeing the solid maintence record for the truck. Very confident it will run strong until I add the usual "fixes" for these 6.0s later this year.

Not planning on anything big at the moment but plans for the next 6 months will include EGR delete or BPD Cooler, Edge CTS monitor, SCT tuner with SRL tune from Matt at Gearheads Performance, and a MBRP exhaust.

Looking forward to learning a lot about these trucks as I am pretty new to diesel.

unless your getting the cts monitor for more than guages it may be a bit more accurate to just do 3 pod pillar for about the same price. but if yo do get the cts it does have many more capabilities. coolant filter first probably. its cheap and easy do it your self project. and hold the egr delete till head studs cause once your that far in you may as well do the studs too.

Thank you for the advice. I'm still really new to diesel so it's quite the learning process. What puzzles me is can I get one of the more expensive SCT tuners like the livewire or their touch screen model that allows me to hold custom tunes and monitor boost, EGTS, etc. without buying both the gauges/Edge Insight and the SCT tuner.
