Hello,
I just got a 2005 F250 6.0L PS Lariat Ext Cab SB. Took out the bed liner and there was the hole in the bed next to the wheel well. Cleaned it up and more rust on the passenger side wheel well and now another hole. I was going to put a roll-on bed liner before it rusted, opps too late. They are a real pain those plastic under rail bed liners they really are bad for holding water under them and creating rust. Have to get it fixed before I roll on the new bed liner... The rest is good, love the power and the ride. It has 103,000 miles on it here is to tripling that. I know bullet proof the engine, you bet

Before you get into bullet-proofing her, I recommend a monitor. That will tell you what needs to be addressed first, and help prevent issues down the road. If you have questions let me know.

Thanks, for the warm welcome. Good recommendation colo_dually. Which type of monitor and what brand? This is my first Ford truck and my first diesel, but it's my 14th truck... So I need some help with this SD F250, thanks...

Called up dealer and bought a 12 month, unlimited mileage power train warranty. Just in case, he gave me a good deal. It even covers gaskets and seals
Just found out it is a 24 month, unlimited mileage power train warranty. Must have miss-heard him Last edited by can05f250; 07-19-2012 at 05:19 PM. |

I feel everything can be handled by the Insight, CS or CTS depending on what you want for features. I offer the following thread to explain: Write Up: Monitoring the 6.0L PSD. |

I'm checking out prices on the STC and the Insight, thanks for the information colo_dually. I read your post on the monitoring and it is very in depth. I'll have to reread it to make sure I didn't miss anything, very interesting thanks.
Just some info went on a small trip yesterday and got 23-24.5mpg highway (18.5-19.6mpg US) and we were 5 in the cab and 200lbs in the toolbox. The terrain was hilly and some mountains. Did a 90 mile city and a 195 mile highway calculation and got 20.8mpg (16.7mpg US). So looking at the figures on the form this is not too bad. Just a little less than my old 2006 GMC Serria 5.3L 4x4. Oh ya, forgot steady 100 kph (62 mph) highway. Really really liking this truck

Well, I just ordered a Edge Insight CS, should be here in a few days. I found a shop to fix the holes in the bed of my truck for only $250 total so I can get the Insight CS this month.
