New Member from Southern California

Joined so I can start doing research on diesel trucks. Never owned one before but I think it's time to get one soon. Will be retiring from the Navy soon and want to get myself a retirement toy.

Why, because of gas prices? I am looking at getting a used one, I can't afford a $60,000 truck, especially since this will be a third vehicle. I have a Prius for my 160 mile round trip commute to work, now I need something I can haul with. I need to do some research though for sure because I got all stoked about a 2005 6.0 that I found for a good price from a private seller, but when I went to the Ford service department the service advisor told me to steer clear of that engine.

Oh, and what does studded and deleted mean in reference to the 6.0? Is that a process that makes the engine more reliable?
