New to Ford

Just bought my first Ford product. I've never owned anything but Chevy. It was time for a diesel for the farm to move grain and cattle and I feel that the Chevys today look like they should never leave the city limits. The Ford looks like its ready to go to work. (2000 4wd crewcab dually Lariat)

Thumbs up

Welcome to the forum deere! I too was always a Chevy fan but I've NEVER had a vehicle that I've loved more than my PSD. You picked the right truck for working your farm, trust me.

Farm Trucks

Hi! Nice to see one who lives in the farming world too! Just a heads up, the stock air filter system on these trucks are not as efficient as one needs if your driving around the dust much. I would reccomend looking into and aftermarket air-filter system. The one that I have, and would highly recommend is found at

afe air filters

I once drove through a big mound of alkalie (had to get to my hay) that plugged up the filter so bad my truck almost died on me, but when I took the filter off there was not a SPECK of dust behind it. I thought I had ruined my truck, but thanks to the afe filter, it was fine!

One more added bonus, is that it really makes the truck sound nice too.

Thanks for joining the site and hope you like your truck as much as I do mine!

Deere, a name as tough as Power Stroke!

Welcome Deere! Just like you and Rod, I was a proud owner of a chevy. Now i'm an extremely proud owner of my PSD! The whole truck is better not just the engine. I agree, the ford does appear ready to get down and dirty and strut it's stuff while the chevy looks like it want to sit at home watching the inside of a garage door. You picked a proven engine too. There's tons of products out there that will make you think that 7.3 could pull the planet! I'm running a TS Performance 6 position chip on mine, which is adjustable in-cab. I'm in need of an intake, preferably an AFE stage II, as my true flow truly sucks. My exhaust is a magnaflow turbo back. Good luck with modding yours!
