Hey All, I recently purchased a 2006 F350 6.0L CC/LB in White/ gold with 70,400 miles and my first diesel on top of that. I bought the truck for use in the winter months and for towing my 2004 VW R32 to track events / etc. This is also my new Daily Driver.
I got the truck from XLR8 Diesel in Woodsboro, MD. The EGR cooler was replaced and temps seem ok thus far. Im not looking to extensively mod this thing so i won't be trying to break any HP figures.
After reading the forum, I've come to a consensus that the OIL Coolers aren't that great on the 6.0L's and am curious as to when people start seeing problems figuring it was well maintained.
Im looking at getting a Edge CTS Monitor to see the temps when towing and also looking into SCT programmer DOWN the ROAD and an MBRP 4 inch turbo back as well.
Im on factory 20's and frankly i forgot how much tires cost for that size wheel haha. ohwell.
So there is one thing i have a question on and am curious since i don't remember hearing this noise prior to. It almost sounds like Intake noise but when i accelerate at lower speeds its more noticeable but I hear the turbo spool and then i get this sound as though either a FAN is kicking on and then after i let off the pedal, boost noise of it releasing and its like the fan is slow to shut off, except its not a fan to my knowledge. Again its almost like an aftermarket intake noise except the motor is stock to include the filter. Does anyone have any idea what this COULD BE? Ive owned turbo cars before and it doesn't sound like the intake noise from those cars.
Thanks and I'm glad there is a forum for these trucks with what appears to be a lot of knowledgeable folks.
