Need opinions on purchase

Hi all,
I'm obviously new to the thread but I'm also new to diesels in general. I know the 7.3 has some legendary staying power with proper maintinance and this is exatly what I'm looking for.

I stumbled apon someone that found a great deal on an F550 for his new buisness and is wanting to trade my gasser for his F250 and some cash to avoid having to drive the 550 everywhere. The F250 is a 2000 7.3 6sp quad cab 4x4. It was 275000 Miles and he says it has had injectors, tranny, glow plugs, and several other things replaced recently. He got the truck approximately a year ago to use to pull a hay trailer so this is what was done to it before he got it and he does not have proof of said replacements. He has replaced the water pump in the past year and looking at it it is obviously new.

I drover the truck and it is very strong! It seemed to run very good and i couldn't find any oil from the top side of the motor. The oil cap doesn't get blown off when unscrewed either.(stuff I've seen to check from various forums) The tranny seems to be solid and the truck has a couple of after market mods. Ts 6 pos chip, k&N and a 4" exhaust. The only bad I can find is that oil appears to bee seaping from the oil plug on the oil pan. Doesnt look damaged just looks like the rubber seal/o-ring may be leaking. Oil is only on the bottom of the pan not the sides at all and doesnt seam to be dripping just seaping a little. Also ont of the blue couplers for the turbo intake has a small hole in it and would need to be replaced. Other than that it seams to be in really good shape.

I say all of that to say this. I have talked to him and lowest i can get him is 6k$ plus my 1999 Ram 1500 4x4 that books out at around $6500+/- depending on which site you use, realistically I think I could get $4900-$5200 for it. So basically I figure if I would be paying him $11000 for his truck.

Do you guys think that this would be a deal worth making? I have seen trucks similar to his in price ranges from $9000 to $14500 and various milage in my area. So I'm just looking for some thoughts.

Thanks Guys and sorry to be so long winded.
Matt

Well I guess it was a bad enough deal that no one felt they should even comment. Any way my truck sold so I will be searching for other trucks. This postcan be deleted as it is now just a waste of space.
