I'm actually wondering how to get better mileage on the 6.4? My buddy is getting like 10.5 on a leveling kit with 35's

Delete and tune... about the only way. H&S Spartan are the biggest names you'll hear, but Matt @ Gearhead is doing some CRAZY things with sct tuning for 6.4s

OP, yes get rid of the DPF and tune with either Spartan or H&S.
You also need a CAI (AFE or S&B) to get the most out of it (fuel economy and Power)
