Hey Woody

I'm not sure if those symptoms denote a problem with the EGR valve, however it's rather easy to rule it out. Take the EGR valve out and clean it (there is a post with the procedure for this in here somewhere) and then when you put it back in, leave it unplugged. Drive it and see if it does the same thing. It won't hurt the truck as many of us in here leave ours unplugged all the time with no problems. I hope you get it figured out bro.

Unplugged the EGR and ran down the road without any of the prior problems - heck, that was easy!!! Not sure if I want to replace the EGR or just leave unplugged? Any thoughts? I know several have stated that they leave their EGR unplugged without any issues. Thanks

Only prob is the turbo doesnt put out as much boost with it unplugged.
Mine will only boost 20psi with egr unplugged, which isnt a big deal untill a cummins or dmax wants to play.
Also there are other ways to delete egr such as an SCT programmer.
