New diesel owner.

Hey all,

Just wanted to say this forum has been very helpful even before i bought my first PSD. I am not driving around in an '04 F250 4x4 crew/short box and i love it. Im already addicted to hearing my turbo whistle and diesel engine chug along. I bought a nice big truck because I live up here in the mountains in California and being a volunteer fire fighter I have to be able to get to the incident or station no matter what. My focus just wasn't cutting it.

However i do have a couple questions as I am new to diesels and I know that the 6-oh can be a bit problematic.
1)Monthly maintenance?
2)Things to watch-listen-smell out for?
3)What to do with the pesky camper shell?

i live over in Santa Cruz so I get a lot of middle fingers from the prius drivers (no joke)

PO has really taking care of this 6.0 only the turbo was replaced under warranty 40k ago. My oil temp guage sits right in the middle so hoping my egr and oil cooler are good. Im going to switch out the ford gold for some elc soon.

Just keep an eye out for coolant loss and an eye on ur temp gauge I've got an 06 and no problems so far with 113k its been good so far maintenance gets to be a pain but its a diesel haha oil changes r expensive but for the most part its not bad

Nice area - May be coming to your neck of the woods later in the month. My wife and I are thinking about bringing the 5th wheel over to the RV Park in Moss Landing.
