Whats up everyone

Just wanted to say hello and while i don't own a powerstroke i'm around them alot because of friends and my job so I want to learn more. I'm hoping you guys have a lot of info hidden around here for me to find so i can get better and get comfortable around diesels like i am with gas motors.

Does anyone have any books they recommend to pick up about diesels?

I am currently working at the naval academy with the transportation department. We have a 2004 ford 350 diesel that we use for hauling around bleachers, generators and whatever else we have to do. We also have a f550 diesel with a dump bed we use when we have to run things up to the dump. Just about all the bigger truck we have are fords so i see them all day.

I will be leaving that job shortly to get back into mechanics and my soon to be new boss has agreed to send me to diesel classes that he will pay for if i wish.

Very cool! Hey WELCOME to the ORG, it's great to have you. I can't help with the books but I'm interested to see what everyone says because I'd like to do some reading myself.

Chiltons Repair manual, Haynes Repair Manual, Ford Dealership Repair Manual, Dana 60 Repair Manual, Dana 50 repair manual, I mean I could go on and on about them. But how about some better reading, Diesel Power Magizine, Petersons Off-road magizine, Off-road magizine, just start reading magizines that is where you can learn alot about repairs and stuff.
