Researched, listened, and searched some more and found all the answers I needed right here! For the last year I have received check engine lite intermittently. Ford dealership kept saying it was a "generic code" and nothing seemed to be wrong. Well, after looking here, I purchased a code reader ( $45 from Ebay), DTC was ( you guessed it) P0299!! Armed with info from here, specific code number, Turbo was finally changed! The Tech told me that their dealership didn't replace Turbo's unless customer could be specific with trouble, then the rule was take apart, clean, and try again before replacement. Well, all I know is that knowledge from here seemed to take me further in just one service visit than the previous year. Hope this fix lasts!!

to the site man I took mine in because of the engine lite they took the turbo of and clean it ,[9K]went 250 miles and the lite came back on got pissed took it back in replace the turbo this time been running good 20k knock on wood.
