Auto Technician purchases first Ford PSD

Hi, I am an Automotive Technician. I own my own shop near Minneapolis MN. I have been in the market for a crewcab diesel for about a year now, and recently purchased a 99 F-350 4 door.

I am not a "diesel" mechanic, and in fact I am a chevy guy at heart, I have always owned chevy's I worked as a GM technician for 3 years at a dealer, and bought the Ford because of it's known reliability and Duramaxs are still to new and spendy....and have less rear seat leg room.

I got the truck because a guy came into my shop to get it fixed, as it was missing, and he was trying to sell it as well. I also have a friend who is a FORD DIESEL TECH at a large dealer, so i called him and had him check it out. Needed 2 fuel injectors in his opinion. I negotiated a price to buy it from the owner with it in the condition it was in, and installed 2 ford reman injectors, put ball jts in it and rebuilt the rear drive shaft. Truck runs great now.

I am a HUGE snowmobile Nut, and I race cc races in the uscc. I frequent DOOTALK.com, where i share the same handle as i do here, and i am senior member over there, with several thousand meaningful posts.

I got a little learning to do about these PSD.

see you around in the forums.

Thanks for all the response boys.

I doubt my blood will ever turn completely blue though!! LOL!

Ford is still a 4 letter word......the PSD is the only exception.....You couldn't talk me into buying a ford unless it had a 7.3 in it. Time will tell on the new 08's....
