Talking Newbie to the org...

Hi everyone, I have been browsing through looking at a lot of information. I am new to the Powerstroke as well as new to a diesel engine. I just purchased a 2003 F350 4 x 4 with the 6.0. Upgraded from a 2004 Dodge 1500 with the HEMI, made the change after I blew out the rear end towing a trailer. My new ride is in the shop for a broken Y pipe, gas gauge not working properly and electric mirrors have a short. Has anyone ever had a broken Y pipe? Any ideas what would cause this. One other question, what is the best oil to use for this engine. Thanks for letting me in, I look forward to getting to know some people.

Welcome to the ORG. As far as best oil there are alot of opinions on this. The most commonly used is probably rotella. The best is probably Amsoil

I don't know the 6.0L engine very well.. and there are techs on this site who can give you a better answer than I ever could anyway, so I'll just say:
