New from Kansas City

Well, I'm Rakefet and I have a 1997 F-250 that needs a little help

I've owned it for almost 2 years and the maintenance performed by previous owners was far from stellar. I use it as a daily driver and to tow a Durango (4400 lbs) on a trailer (2000 lbs).

Anyway, my torque converter is almost gone, and the truck itself just seems kind of weak, so here I am. My main concern performance-wise is pulling the car trailer and Durango with relative ease.

I'll also be looking on here for general maintenance advice and what not, so any help is certainly appreciated.

The truck has almost 200k miles. The only performance modifications done are an AFE drop in filter, AFE turbo back exhaust, and a Superchips programmer that I use when towing.

Yeah, I have a big to do list currently:

Tires
Alignment
I think I need new tie rods, I guess I'll find out when I get that alignment.
Trans service and new torque converter
Front brakes

So yeah...those are what I'm going to tackle first. I've put off a lot of this stuff because I've been scared of the outcome, but it's gotten to a point that I need to take care of it.

When ya go looking for quality trans. work, hit up Floor It Diesel Performance in Lawerence. There are some other performance shops on the MO side but I haven't dealt with them much, besides Floor It built the trans. in my Dodge and it's been awesome. Having someone local to help diagnose problems if they occur is a whole lot easier then trying to do it via email or over the phone.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me of that place...I had forgotten about it. I think there's another place in Belton or somewhere down 71, but I can't remember exactly.
