Hi there from central texas. I have had many Ford trucks but this is my first diesel. grew up in the trucking industry (father is an owner operator). I am very happy with my truck but want to get better fuel mileage. Truck is a stock 2006 F250, FX4, CC, SWB, 6.0 automatic, currently 11500 miles. Plan to put on an exhaust and intake soon, so hope to get some advice on these items and other ideas for better mileage. Have considered a chip as well but the dealer said that it would void my warrenty. i thought it would only void the warrenty if they could prove that the chip caused the failure. I would consider myself as being light on the pedal 95% of the time and currently get about 14.5 MPG when not towing. Max weight I normally tow is about 5000 lbs. For an exhaust, I plan on not making it to loud (straight pipe) but louder than stock is fine. Hope not to totally destroy the warrenty either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Welcome, Its great to see some more Texas guys! I have pretty much the same rig as you jus an 04... I would deffanatly look into an exhaust system, Altho i wouldnt get an intake, The stock intake is GREAT and flows really well. I would do the Zoo dad mod tho. I have also herd that the milage on the new motors make a big factor on the mpg. I bet if you are to get another 10 thousand miles that there would be a increas do to every thing breaking in. hope this helps ya on your way to better mpg's.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() To POWERSTROKE.ORG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you look at your air box, and see where the intake is. Lift the black piece of plastic covering up the space between the grill and engine bay, and you should see where the intake leaves the engine bay and goes into another little area behind the grill. You should also see that there is a solid piece of fiberglass infront of the intake tube. Cut a big hole in the fiberglass, and you just made ya a ZooDad. Makes it more like a Ram Air for Free
