Hey Yall..I thought id introduce myself since I am new here. My names Heather, I have a 97F250 7.3L 5 speed short bed 4x4 with 151K on it. I bought this truck outta NM about a year and a half ago for a smoking deal. Lemme tell you it was a chore finding this year of a truck with the miles she had on her and being a 5 speed. I absolutely love this truck and when the 90s strokes first came out I knew I wanted one. I will admit though back in 02 when my 87F250 6.9L blew a fuel pump(one of the million things that went wrong on this truck) I walked into the Ford and Dodge dealerships wanting to buy a new truck. Sad to say Ford was unwilling to find me a 5 or 6 speed(they said it was near impossible) so I ended up with a 2002 Dodge 3/4 ton cummins quad cab long bed 4x4. Dont get me wrong this was a good engine but bewteen the payments and the body falling apart on the truck I decided to get my much longed for stroke. I wish I would have just boughten this stroke before I bought the dodge but hey we all make mistakes lol.

Lets see...oh I use her for hauling horses and a daily driver. I would love to get a daily driver and leave her for just hauling to keep the miles down on her but unfotunately am unable to.
Well I must get back to work. Its great being on this site and I hope to meet alot of new and intersting people.

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, another "would rather drive a Ford" addition to the forum... I understand the "nice engine but poor truck" thing here which is why I went with the Ford myself... I knew the 6.0 had some problems initially but mine being an '06 I wasn't worried... So far the only problem I've had is truck related and not the engine... I had the driver power window motor just give up the ghost on me... Warranty took care of that real quick... Man I just love these trucks ....

Heat..Glad to hear you like your 6.0, I know a few folks with em n they havent had much trouble at all either.
Uhpilot..the Pinal Air Park aint to far from where I rope out in Marana on Thursday nights.

Pipelayer...I guess im lucky..took me 4 months searching the web to find her..only thing is I wanted a long bed and not a short bed, but im dealing with it (this is my first short bed).
I love my truck...for a 97 with low miles it is a purdy clean truck and the paints in good condition. If I didn't use my truck I would love to lift it cus shed look even hotter lifted but id only do that if I had another pulling truck and since I am a dirt broke cowgirl and all my money goes into my horses that aint happening anytime soon lol.....Although I would so love a 1 ton crew cab 4x4 super duty dually I will just have to dream for now lol.
