New to site...

Hey all,
I am new to this site and my wife and I are baout to purchase our first powerstroke. My father in law has a 00 f-250 7.3L and I am a big fan of it. We are looking at 03 f-250, being a transition year I am finding them in the 7.3L and the 6.0L. From what research I have done it would appear that I should look until I find a 7.3 that I like. What makes the 6.0L undesirable as opposed to a 7.3L if that is the only difference between the two trucks?

Ryan

I moved ya to the intro section.

The first year of the 6.0s had more problems than the later ones do. The 6ers just need more TLC than the 7.3s do. You can beat on a 7.3 much more and get away with it.

I think if you buy a 7.3 you can't go wrong! Its a proven engine with very few issues. There was some issues with the early 6.0, but 2005 on you should be safe as most of the bugs were worked out by the late 04 engine.

I have the 7.3, and it's a great engine, but I would think that any issues that they had would have been dealt with by the time you get it.

Welcome to the site, jump on in and have a good time and don't be bashful, we like questions, they help with our guessing abilities hahaha.

Gord.
