loving it so far with only a vacuum leak to track down (defrost only). looks like a ton of great info here and hope to stick around and contribute. |

ok mine did this and i'll save you the trouble. first check the assoiated fuse per the owners manual..for the vacume pump...OR, if your 4x4 then trace the vacume hose that goes into the knuckel on the front axel. that actuates the 4x4 when "on the fly" clamp off one side start the truck and see or feel if the air moves to the window vents, if not then do the other side and check. NOW!, if not 4x4 thenallow the truck to sit for a min if youve driven it.Then pop the hood with your head hangin out the window turn the ignition to the "ON" position dont start it! you should here three things the pain in the ear dinging from the dummy bell, the injectors cycling and a "HUM" like a pump thats the one your working on.Its on the passenger side wheel well behind te AUX batt if so equipt. It will have 2 or three hoses and a couple of branch lines thoes go to diffrent aireas of the truck.now clamp off one of the 3 that come DIRECTLY off the pump.then start the truck and feel if the defrost is working if it does then its on that leg of vacume,if not go to the next. Once found on what mauin leg the leak might be then see if it branches off or "T's" any where on that main vacume line.if so then clamp off one side of that line try to start it and feel for the defrost to work. if not then try the other side of the "T'" and wala you have it replace that side as best you can. saving the best for last... if all this doesnt work then you its behind the dash and yo need to start traring parts off till you can see all the actuators and conectors. tht should help |
