Cool Former gasser

Hey, i'm new.
I was lucky enough to have had my former Dodge 1500 totaled. I'm not that happy about it and didn't have much choice in the matter. Now i have a F250 w/ 7.3 4x4 ext cab and 8' bed. I really love it. The Super Duty is so overbuilt. I'm amazed at how thick and big everything is on it. Now i understand "Built FORD Tough" My only problem is its lack of response to gas pedal. So i'm here for advice on smoking it. I'm also looking for advice on what to do with it and what not to do. How long should it warm up in winter and summer? Should i let it cool down after i'm done driving? Should i drain the separater weekly or monthly? Do they make a remote starter for Diesels? What else am i missing? Is a air intake my first modification? or should i get a chip, tuner? 90% of time i'd like to save gas. Other 10% i'd like to smoke the tires and surprise an import or a piece of chevy. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Forum, Henry!

Yes, let it cool down!
A tuner or chip will help with throttle response.
Get some gauges, intake and exhaust.
Yes you can add remote start to a diesel as long as it has a time delay function.
I try to allow about ten minutes warmup before driving any time, more in the winter. A high idle mod or chip will also help.

Welcome to the forum first off!!! Lets see if we can get a few answers for ya here.....
As far as throttle responce.....you can shim the fuel pressure regulator....chip it...and do an 18k or 10k mod...all of which will help your throttle responce. As far as warm up....letting it warm up for 5-15 minutes in temps below 40 degrees is a good idea...but in a modern diesel that is really not required in temps above that and while your throttle repsonce and power may be down, you dont even have to do it at colder temps, although i would reccomend it. I would reccomend draining the fuel/water seperater once a month or so, more important during the winter. Yes you can put a remote start on a diesel.....

As far as a chip or tuner...Yes it will help performance and fuel economy (if your right foot lets it...LOL). there are many options and the guys around here have tried about all of them...ill let them chime in for ya on that!!!

Cool Thanks

Thanks for the info. My truck has a air suspension and a energizer. I think the energizer is for brakes. How can i find out about psi. limits on suspension?
