Exhaust question

:burnout I have no complaints about the k&n...I was wondering about the banks monster exhaust, I was told by the tech who does exhaust work here that magna flow is the same, just a lil cheaper, what do yall think about either system?? 4 in with a 5 in tip??

the tip is just for looks.....and i would have a hard time beliveing that any exhaust out performs any other exhaust as long as its 4 inch....unless it is a really rough finish......that is about the only thing that could have any impact on exhaust flow. basically any four inch exhaust is all you need.....a five inch really gives no performance gains with a 3.5" outlet on the turbo......i would have no problem personally with the magnaflow if it was mine.....doesnt matter if its a 4 or a 5 inch tip....as long as your happy with the looks....Marc

i know there are some aftermarket, larger Y pipes out there (crossover pipes)....with the added exhaust flow, and the aftermarket exhaust...this would be the most efficient way to get the turbo wind up out of the exhaust with the best performance gain...but you may want to wait and see it the exhaust alone sounds to your liking, cause it will make a difference just by itself, especially if your doing downpipe and all........and the Y pipe's are not cheap as far as i can remember......Marc
