05 Headlight conversion question

I have a 1999 F350 and just bought 05 Harley headlights. It said you need to cut out some plastic behind the headlight because they are a little deeper. Has anyone else done this and know where to cut??? They didnot include a diagram or any instructions. Any help would be appriciated. I don't want to cut to much......or the wrong area.

These are already cut, you will need to make cuts where the red lines are

very good.

that's what you need to do. I've done it.

a dremel or grinder with a thin disk works very well.

Thanks, those are helpful. Another question. How do the headlights fasten at the top of the light. Screws are the same on the bottom, but I do not see how the top works out???

you need 1/4-20 bolts 3/4" long, I bought 1" could of used 3/4. you also need speed nuts 1/4-20, and washers. 4 each of all these. I bought mine at Lowes.
there are some holes in the header panel that line right up.

That's a nice pic of the cutout area. Wish I had that. I spent half a day cutting and fitting

Can't you just buy an 05+ header panel and bolt that in, and they'll bolt right up like stock?
