Purchasing an SCT with xtreme race

If I buy an sct x3 with extreme race on it, will it work on my truck, or is that tune locked onto the other truck owner? How much work would it be to redo it to fit my truck? Or are the tunes already installed on the tuner no good for me? If so, how much do these tunes run for? Lastly, the preloaded tunes from SCT, would those function on my truck or are those also locked into previous truck?

the custom tunes will only work on your truck if your strategy is the same as the truck the tunes were made for. The preloaded tunes from sct will work on any 6.0. Tunes range anywhere from 35 - 100 bucks a tune

what is this strategy thing I am hearing? They guy already gave me his truck strategy, how do I find mine? Or how does it work? Is it based on Mods? I only have a cai and turbo back exhaust

you need to have an sct device to read your strategy. I dont know of any other way to tell. It is basically what your stock tuning is, every time you get a reflash done by ford it will change. Strategy Has nothing to do with what mods you have done to the truck yourself.

that will read it, and as long as your not using it for the mustang it will work for the truck!

I do use it for the mustang.

However, I am thinking that these custom race tunes will not benefit me because I have a lifted truck, so I would probably need them geared towards my setup. I want more power and torque but also taking into account the added stress of the lift and oversized tires.

Anyone know if 1 of the preloaded tunes would work for my setup?
