April 2007: Dyno Day in Danville, IN

Saturday April 14th, started out as a bad day.

Aaron (ABOBB) had alarm clock issues and decided to stay home, House (House22) blew a tire, and it snowed and rained all day!

Several members were in attendance:

and other friends of the members who rode along!

99smokin73stroker was the first to dyno, followed by purduefarmboy460 and House22. Our members were there to open the doors and almost helped sweep the floor when it was over. We were represented well! Afterall, we want to go back soon!

As always, there was plenty of food thanks to everyone for pitching in, and House finding a steal on some amazing coney sauce from a connection in Kokomo. We had around 4 gallons of sauce, and 120 Hotdogs! (not that we ate them all)

Big thanks to 96stroker's father for watching the grill while purduefarmboy460 was about to puke prior to his dyno run. He was white as a ghost until the first run was over, after that, he was all smiles!!

It was a little cold in the shop, but it was warm around the grill under the overhang that the owners opened up for us. We were given a place to park and set up our grill and put out our sign next to the shop door, and had a walk in door that led directly to the dyno room about 10 feet away!

Dyno Day was the day from HELL for me first on the way there i get a flat tire, and nearest tire place cant patch it said the hole's was 2 closes together so have to get one new bfg at in a 285 well they raped me 256$ took 2 hours to wait on the the tire store, then get at Danville at 12pm sign up for dyno and get #29 and there on truck 6 then, around 9pm I dyno and with the one piece driveshaft and even loaded couldnt use 4th so had to drop down to 3rd gear and dynoed considerable low to the gear 427 and 697 the dyno operator was bumbed on it, he says ever bit of 550hp truck to him.
then on the way home i get 15 miles from Danville and hear my belt squeal as I get on the interstate and look back my hole truck is steaming, so get off the interstate fast as i can, and my water pump blew a big chunk out of it. Call Adam and He calls Jim! They both came to my rescue we diganosse the problem. Then Adam hooks the tow strap up and tows me across state road 36 full strobes on! To a bob evans. SO there for we cram 5 ppl in a ext cab ford and head back to kokomo, my tow rig is in texas so had to get a buddy in the Dmax to hook to my trailer and go back to get it and bring it home, its 2:45am when we get back to my House!

When it rains it pours! I had a full three days like your one day. It is not fun at all when the truck acts up.

4 runs, on the last of 4 (with truck now heat soaked) I turned 340hp and 680 tq with 6-7 guys in the bed, and smoking the tires on the dyno!

Water meth kit wasn't working properly however, so I am heading back to Danville soon for some better numbers!!!

Dyno day ralley A danville performance was awsome to say the least. It was a little dury outside but there was plenty of diesels there and alot of trucks spun the rollers. Purduefarmboys460's pull was impressive and once we work out a few bugs, I think it will be even better. I cant wait till we go back, I will be there to lend a hand wrenching on Adam's and house's trucks.

The coney sauce was great and we had spinach dip so that made me happy! It was long and cold, but I got to ride in Adam's truck while he dynoed so that was fun.
