Just wanted to check with all you guys and see where you have your Powerstrokes worked on. I'm in NE Indiana and cant seem to find many good reputable shops around here. I dont mind driving a little ways.
Well dont go to Dave's diesel in Angola. They've blown up too many trucks on the dyno and wouldn't fix anything. These are not even heavily mod'd trucks. They used to be pretty good, but wouldn't pay their good techs so they quit.
Its not bad of a drive for you but probably worth it. Sam Wyse auto repair in Ridgeville Corners, OH. He works on literally everything. He's a member on here, but here very little. Used to build 1000+ cummins pullers, (he got bored of everyone else having cummins) but now he's all PS's. Has a 6.0 for his sponsor truck now. I'll PM you his cell number.
Here within the next year I'm looking to have my pistons, pushrods, studs, and head gaskets done with a 71mm LP turbo. Does he do internal work and have equipment to work heads.
If you were to go to a big shop personally I would go with swamps. They know there powerstrokes and are located in Kentucky. I know thats farther from the Schieds and Haisley but I think it would worth the trip
Swamps is in LaVergne TN. Its a long drive. They are well known for the 7.3 performance. Haisley will not touch a Ford. Only n all Cummins. Schieds will do PS's too. But not really what their known for. Its far n few to find shops the newer 6.4 and 6.7.
If it wasnt about to be like -20 out I might think about working on it but I'll pass haha. Hoping next year to have a lift installed in the garage so I can do some work.
I'm looking to try Schieds to figure out my fuel issue. They are an authorized AD dealer so I'm sure they can isolate the issue in the fuel system pretty easily. I'll give Sam a call when I'm ready to have some of the bigger work done.
Yeah would have been really nice to have my truck this morning.... But on a good note at least my truck is sitting on a lift in a heated garage haha... Still sucks........
Try struckman ford in osgood about 20 minutes south of greensburg. He is awesome with powerstrokes and reasonable as well. Scheids in lafayette is a waste of time.
They are overpriced under educated. This is of course the lafayette branch. They are just a bunch of dick heads and rather than answer a simple question like raisors does they want 100 bucks. I had bad luck with them telling them to ignore the unplugged injector and focus on the on the lack of oil pressure. But what ended up being my icp, to the brainiac fat retard known as les the unplugged inj was the oil issue. I'll drive to nkp in rockville or struckman in osgood before going across town.
Yea the Effingham, Illinois one is good to deal with, but the lafayette shop is just to far from home base to be decent to people. Wagner in star coty is pretty decent but they fill up quick. The international dealer hear is a pretty good place.
