Indiana Alcohol Laws - Time for a change!

Have you ever been thirsty for a cold beer on a Sunday afternoon only to open your fridge and find it beer free? Whats worse is knowing that unless your neighbor or a buddy has a few brews to share you are screwed until Monday as our prohibition-era alcohol laws prevent us from buying alcohol on Sundays! Also, most stores quit selling alcohol past 1 or 2 am any night. However I do know of one liquor store open until 3 am.

There have been at least a half dozen times this year that I have held a spur of the moment deal at my place with some buddies as Sundays are the least busiest day of the week for all of us. Well all but one of those times I didn't have any beer.

It's long past time to change the law, which also prohibits cold beer sales anywhere other than a liquor store. Here's how to make a dent:

You could jump the stateline into Michigan and buy after 12 noon on Sunday. But you might have sticker shock when you see what we pay for beer compared to you.

We can buy beer any day of the week in Iowa, but not from 2am-6am Monday through Saturday. Sunday you can't start buying again until 8am. Also you can buy cold beer at just about every convenience store on every corner...

and im originally from bargersville/greenwood so its not like we can jump over to ohio, etc, in a couple of minutes

Same here in WI except the beer cutoff is earlier

we have had this law in the town i live in for as long as i can rember, but our neighboring big city - lexington just changed that law here a few weeks back
but that law has to do with religion

Well it is only Saturday, buy a few extra cases and don't break them open until tomorrow.
