ugh lucky you, i hate when i see a blacked out cop car one day then get pulled over for my tint the next, the head county cop has an suv with 2.5 all the way around and 35 on the windshield with no waiver i asked how i could get away with it and he said take it off get a waiver or pay the fines. Its BS!!

I've been living in IL for the last year and I roll around with 5% tint year round. What's the big deal about having tinted windows anyway?

RJM -- its EASY to get a waiver in DE. Schedule your annual checkup with a doctor, and go to the appointment with the tint waiver already filled out. Tell the doc you have photosensitivity (your eyes are sensitive to light and you get headaches) and ask if the doc would mind signing your waiver.

First doc told me he didn't agree with the waiver and I wasn't successful. Even though I had laser eye surgery in 2000 and DO have photosensitivity. Second doc signed the waiver no questions asked.

That second visit saved me probably $1000 in fines and re-tints.

BTW -- my parents live in Middletown. I'm from Newark and lived in Milford. If you happen into Meding's Seafood on Rt 1, tell Rob and Henry I said "hey!"

All depends on the cops in your area. One of the small towns by me the cops would pull you over for tinted windows in a heartbeat. I know several friends that have been over the last few years. Most of them that live in that town just removed the tint. My 03 had the windows tinted when I got it, I just run with the windows down when in that town. Although, it does look kinda funny I guess when I see a cop, I roll them down and its 12 degrees outside.. Now I wont have to.

My F350 and my Grand Marquis will have a date with one of the tint shops in the area soon.

i just keep my truck registered in MI. under my dads name so the cops in IL. don't bother pulling me over, i have been pulled over for speeding and he didn't say nothing about the windows, my windows are 20%.

i think legal in is 35 and i have 5 all the way around mine with 35 on my windshield and im havin mine redone and thinkin about havin a layer of 15 put on over the five and doin 20 on the windshield
