Elgin SUCKS!!!
And I should know. No inspections for A(car) and B(10-12,000 max), but D and above need windshield sticker. If the truck is nice you get a one year sticker, if it's not so nice it gets a 6 month. I have never seen a private vehicle hit for not having a sticker though. There is a place on 31 just south of the nut house that does inspections, but I have never used them. Right across form the fuel depot just as you get into S Elgin. I always go to a little shop just west of St Charles on 64. The junk yard on Bluff City has 2 superduties, very stripped, but both are already missing the front bumpers. I haven't run a front plate in years at this point, and, knock on wood, have never been bothered about it. Ken (few blocks from 31 and 20) |
