Search function

Any chance of adding "exact Phrase" to the advanced search? I hate to start threads that I could probably search for, but everything I search for is so general and comes up with every thread with the word in it instead of a thread specifically for what I'm searching for.

I will agree the search function is not that great. It is so "Generic" you can waste a half of a day trying to find good information, you end up getting 300-400 pages of useless information. Just my .02 worth!

I agree. I have tried every way possible to get it to search for a phrase instead of hitting on any word in the phrase. The way the search function exists now it is pretty much worthless.

Use the google search in the top left of the page. Its site specific

Use quotation marks (" ") on both sides of the phrase and you will get an exact phrase search. The problem are signatures and is the biggest detriment to this great site. Go ahead and do a specific search for "EGR delete" and everyone who has an EGR delete done to their truck will appear in your search (if they added it to their signature).

I have tried putting things in quotes and still get single word matches back. I have tried using AND between words, I have tried using + between words etc. I haven't used the google search though. I'll try that. Thanks Dave.

Even the google bar on the site isnt all that great.

The best thing to do is go to google, type what you are searching for and then put "site:powerstroke.org" afterward.

Looks like this thread has been dead a while, but I agree, the search functions is not very productive. If the sigs could be left out of the search it would greatlly help. There isnt a way to search like that is there?
