National GTG in May 2010????
Howdy All!
I thought this would make for a great NAtional GTG. The final launch for the space shuttle is scheduled for: NASA has tentatively set the final space shuttle mission for May 31, 2010. I have always wanted to see one of these take off. I remember watching the first one in school and I think it would be awesome to see the last one in person. I know this is a ways off but I just couldn't resist the thought of it. Craig

Agreed... I was going to see the one coming up in August, but they moved it 10+ days from the original date....so, that whole moving dates thing stinks! Sad that we're terminating the program without any replacement. We get to depend on the Russians for the ISS of which we have probably billions invested. Great idea congress. (no more political musings) Good Idea Craig!

That would be the biggest issue..........rescheduling the launch. I would LOVE to go and see this. Craig

I would love to have a national gtg but I think that it would need to be somewhere more in the central part of the country. I also would love to see a shuttle launch. I think it would be an awesome thing to experience.

I agree it would be cool! The closest I ever got was Jupiter FL. I saw the exhaust trail from Challenger once and it was awesome!

Is there any more word on anybody going? Wife and I are considering making the drive with the kids to watch it. Be an awesome experience.
