Well I just found out this week I will be getting stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho as my first duty station. I've been through Mountain Home and was born and raised in Washington so I'm happy and fortunate to be getting stationed back up near home.

Not to dump om the thread, but the gf has it in her head to move to Idaho, we are in CA now. Can you guys tell me where good places to look to live are? Like to stay where its warm and the occasional snow. Pros vs CA. I am sure there are lots. Thanks.

boise is fairly hot during the summer (usually over 100 successive days in july). fairly cold during the winter (40 average). lots of recreation across the whole state and around boise. light traffic.
