Drivers license and Cracker Jacks Boxes

Yesterday afternoon I left campus to go get some parts and pulled out behind a Toyota pickup at the stop light, looked up and relized the kid was rolling backwards so I tapped the horn just as he hit the front bumper. Kid and his buddy get out and get upitty with me about being so close. They pull up a little and wouldn't ya know it not a single f'ing mark on either truck. Kid walks back to my truck and tells me he's letting me go and that he belives in karma and if somebody hits me like that down the road I should let them go like he's letting me go. I tell him that in NE last I checked that if you rolled back into the car behind you, no matter how close, it was your fault for not being in control of your vehicle and the kid argues with me so I said fine just go.

Finished going to the parts store and watched a minivan turn the corner, the hatch opened up as they speed up and the people just kept driving. Wish I was quicker with the camera phone for that one.

All this has led me to belive that they are now issuing DLs in Cracker Jack boxes since people have no clue as to the rules or their surrondings.

If you think thats bad... have one of the Law Enforcement boys tell you stories of what they see on the road EVERY DAY. No two stops are ever the same and everyone thinks they are "special" and should get a break.

One of my co-workers hit a parked van. When they finally found the owner and exchange info, the driver said " Drivers License? I don't have to carry a drivers license, I just have to have one on record"
